Cool Schools Program

Cool North Shore in partnership with the BC Sustainable Energy Association delivered two Climate Change Showdown workshops in May and June 2009 for grade 4-6 parents and students from North Vancouver School District 44. Our goal is to support parents and school staff in bringing this program to their local elementary school. The Climate Change Showdown is a fun, informative and engaging workshop for grade 5 and 6 students providing them with a basic knowledge of the science of climate change with take home activities to encourage them to be part of the solution.

This 80 Minute Workshops Include:

• Animated Climate Change Show video
• Guided worksheets and discussion
• Interactive Climate Change Game
• The Climate Change Showdown, a four week-long contest in BC encouraging students and their families to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
• Pre and post-workshop materials for teachers
