Cool Corporate Citizen Initiative

Cool North Shore, in partnership with Climate Smart, initiated in 2009 the “Cool Corporate Citizen Initiative,” to help local businesses turn environmental problems into business opportunities. Climate Smart offers a cost-effective program that provides small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with workshops to teach them to measure, reduce and offset their carbon footprint. The service also offers one-on-one technical assistance by telephone and user-friendly software designed specifically to help businesses track their greenhouse gas emissions.

North Shore businesses will participate together in the Climate Smart program to share best practices and learn with and from each other about the most effective means for turning the carbon reduction challenge into impactful business benefits. Thanks to the Climate Smart initiative, more than 100 small businesses and organizations have learned to measure, reduce and offset their carbon footprint.
